Wieden and Kennedy had the enviable job of increasing awareness of Instagram’s new ‘Stories’ function.  The new feature’s USP was its plethora of fun features that help Instagrammers amplify the joy in notable moments of their everyday life.  Their brief to us was extremely specific: to match found footage clips of epic moments to user generated films of everyday moments to show how Stories Are Everywhere.

We were given very precise briefs to source epic footage on the one hand and matching footage from the everyday on the other. A challenging task for sure. As well as sourcing and licensing content for the campaign, we also advised on rights clearance. Luckily with a brand like Instagram, people are very keen to be connected and the Instagram legal team and the business affairs team at the agency did a lot of high level clearance leveraging their exiting relationships.
