Better Days – The Story of UK Rave

We’re big into all sorts of music at The Director Studio and when we’re not deep in content searches, we are DJ’s, rock singers, producers (and also shower singers). It also just so happens that we have a bit of a soft spot for rave culture and electronic music so when we were approached by director Hugo Jenkins to work on this documentary, we jumped at the chance.

Hugo is part of our freelance team of researchers and content creators so when paired with our archive specialist, the dream team had very much assembled.

We set to work trawling archive libraries and a plethora of modern rave footage sources to find the most authentic, historic footage possible.

Hugo and his editor then set to work incorporating the archive material into the documentary to support the narrative journey of the film.

The documentary explores the history of rave culture, how it has been reimagined in modern times and the impact of Covid 19.
