On our first call with Jaron, the director, we asked him how he was feeling about shooting such an iconic film maker as Spike Lee. Jaron was very calm and very cool, and we knew this film would be fantastic.

We worked directly with the agency and production company to source and clear the rights for a range of archive footage to really place the narrative in Brooklyn in the 1970s.

Archive footage like this is such a joy to work; there is a certain rich quality to the footage itself and the fascinating content captures more than just a moment in time; it captures the nuance and feeling of an era.
