adam&eveDDB came to us with a fun little user generated content social media project which sat as a bolt on to their larger ‘Lover or Hater’ campaign.
The campaign as a whole is centred around the concept of babies inheriting taste preferences from their parents and thus the gag reveals itself. Will your child be a lover or a hater? The main commercial focusses on a 4D ultrasound scan of a baby’s face showing happy or sad emotions which, with clever editing correlate to the parents nervously asking whether their beloved future child will be a lover or a hater.
To expand on this concept we were asked to explore the phenomenon of gender reveal responses. The idea being that we would find footage of people either ecstatic or incredibly upset about the outcome of the gender reveal. The post house would then be able to change the colour of the ballons/confetti/smoke etc. to that of marmite in order to subvert the concept of a gender reveal into something more describable as a ‘Marmite Reveal’.
We meticulously searched far and wide leaving no stone unturned in order to find user generated content that was suitable for the post house to work their magic with. We were able to execute this project within a very shot timeframe and had a good laugh at the results.
